“You’re the light, you’re the night/You’re the colour of my blood, You’re the cure, you’re the pain/You’re the only thing I wanna touch,” she sings over massive synthase and crushing drums.

As sensually-obsessed as the words may be, the music, and Goulding’s vocal, couldn’t be more innocent or gauzy. With her little-girl-lost voice, Goulding sounds sweet even when she’s courting danger.  The single track has gained critical and commercial success. “Love Me Like You Do” definitely gives fans a nice taste of what Goulding has up her sleeve.

This song is amazing. When the song first starts, it is very apparent that this in an Ellie Goulding record because it has her soft voice.

You don’t really know what to expect until the song reaches the first chorus. From that point on, the song only takes off from there. And once you reach the bridge and the final chorus, there is truly an electric moment that you have to hear to really get the feeling.

If you haven’t been a fan of Goulding until now, I think it’s about time you jump on the bandwagon. She has one of the most distinctive voices in the music industry that it’s almost impossible not to recognize her. As for the upcoming year, let’s all wait and see what Goulding has to bring to the table.
