Vijay’s ‘Sarkar’ movie is releasing on November 6 (Diwali) and as a result theater owners and the actor’s fans are celebrating the occasion by erecting huge cut outs, posters and banners of the Thalapathy in the theater premises.
However, the Tamil Nadu government and the TN Theater Owners Association (TNTOA) are trying to play spoilsport. The president of TNTOA, Panneerselvam, is said to have dashed off a circular to all the theater owners in the state that are ready to screen ‘Sarkar’ to remove all the cut outs, posters and banners in accordance with the state government orders.
Few weeks ago, when Vijay’s first look poster of ‘Sarkar’ was released, it showed a cigarette dangling from the actor’s lips. Raising objection to this, The Department of Health, Tamil Nadu had sent notices to Sun Pictures, director AR Murugadoss and the hero and asked them to remove such posters immediately.
