Tamil hero Vijay’s ‘Sarkar’, which faced backlash from AIADMK government and cadre forcing the producers to accept their demand for some cuts in the movie in Tamil Nadu, released simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil versions and early reports suggest that it is doing pretty well in the two Telugu states.
The movie, which was sold for more than Vijay’s capacity in Telugu states, has collected over Rs. 4.5 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the first two days. It continuous to hold well as the first weekend approaches in spite of competition from Director Ravi Babu’s ‘Adhugo’ and Aamir Khan’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ Both the later movies proved to be duds.
Sarkar’s director Murugadoss, whose previous film Spyder hit the dust, can now heave a sigh of relief after his latest outing received a good reception at the box office. Sarkar’s Tamil version, meanwhile, set the box office on fire by collecting almost Rs. 100 crore gross in just two days.
This is the sixth movie in Vijay’s career to achieve such a feat and this is the only the second Tamil movie after Kabali to join the Rs. 100 crore club in just two days.
