On the music front, ‘Kanal’, a revenge drama, presents a mix of sort. There are different kinds of songs, which of course fit into the fabric of the movie rather well.

Pathukke entho :
“Pathukke entho…” is a soft melodious romantic song sung in a rather appreciable manner by Neha Nair and composed by Ouseppachan. The song may not remain in your hearts and memories for long since it doesn’t offer anything special or outstanding, but it certainly is not a bad song either…

Maaya Nagarame :
A song that’s characterized by some kind of an intensity, “Maya Nagarame…” is sung by Sharreth, who does a good job of the singing. In fact it’s his singing that makes the song stand out. Good work Ouseppachan…

Killathe Chollamo :
This is a song you wouldn’t expect from someone like Vaikkom Vijayalakshmi, whose voice we now almost identify with folk type songs etc. The song itself is just so so and doesn’t make the slightest of impact…Composed by Ouseppachan.

Magar Tum :
This ghazal sung by Ustad Fayaz Khan is a neat one in all respects. You get the feel, you like the music and you end up totally impressed with the singing.

Oru Venal Kaattaai :
Oru Venal Kaattaai…”, sung by K S Chithra and Sudeep Kumar, is composed by Vinu Thomas. The song seems OK when you hear it, but then, it’s forgotten very soon. Nothing much to say about it…
