‘Kohinoor’ is basically a light, comedy thriller and is set in the 1980s; the songs hence are designed to suit the overall mood. Well, the two songs suit the mood of the film perfectly well. Lyrics are by Harinarayanan B K and music is composed by Rahul Raj.

Dum Dum Dum :
Composer Rahul Raj has delivered the kind of music that suits the period in which the film is set, i.e., the 1980s. You listen to the song once and you are sort of transported back in time. The lyrics are also fine. Vineeth Sreenivasan, with his rendition, breathes energy into the song. Moreover, if you see the song in the film or watch its video, you realize that Asif Ali and Aju Varghese, who sing the song on screen, have also done it wonderfully well…

Hemanthamen :
Well, this is the best of the two songs in ‘Kohinoor’, and is no doubt a brilliant composition. Rahul Raj has delivered a lilting melody, one of the best melodies in Malayalam film music in recent times. Vijay Yesudas has sung the song brilliantly and once again, you are transported back in time; the tune, the rendition, the orchestration- all take you back in time…You won’t forget this song that easily.
