The Telugu dubbed version of Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is going to be released by Lyca Productions without tying up with any Telugu producers. Initially, producer NV Prasad offered a whopping Rs. 80 crore for the Telugu rights of the movie but backed out after the release of the movie got delayed.
Later, Lyca Productions refused to sell the Telugu rights of the movie for Rs. 80 crore as they believe that the Rajini film can collect Rs. 100 crore from the two Telugu states alone. Surprisingly, NV Prasad will now be distributing 2.0 in the two Telugu states on commission basis.
Lyca Productions completely owns the Telugu version of 2.0′s theatrical and other rights. This Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar movie is said to be the costliest film ever made in Indian film industry with a budget of Rs. 550 crore.
The movie is ready to hit the screens on November 29. Team 2.0 is busy promoting the film in several languages and they are hoping to build Baahubalisque hype around it. Director Shankar and his team badly needs to release a good trailer as the teaser was a disappointment.
