All controversies surrounding A R Murugadoss’s ‘Sarkar’ are in fact helping the film producers to rake in huge profits, thereby directly and indirectly helping the Tamil/Telugu film’s hero Vijay, producers and distributors. Though the film’s Telugu version received a lukewarm response on the first day at the BO, the film continued to woo audiences in the two Telugu states due to strong content and power-packed performance from Vijay.
In four days, the socio-political thriller grabbed Rs 6 Cr in the two Telugu states and it just needs another Rs 1 crore to get back its investment. With the result, the Telugu producer of the movie will start enjoying the profits in the next few days. The same producer had lost money on Mani Ratnam’s ‘Nawaab’. However, he is now on the verge of earning profits on Vijay’s masala movie.
It may be recalled that ‘Sarkar’ ran into political controversy in Tamil Nadu and due to which the producers had agreed and made some cuts in the Tamil version of the movie.
